Zeekr software update OS 1.2: release notes

This page outlines the contents of software update OS 1.2, the over-the-air (OTA) upgrade to the software for the Zeekr 001.

It includes numerous refinements and new features for the charging, driving assistance, navigation and infotainment systems, plus lots of smaller improvements. They are all explained in detail below.

Installing the update

When your car is ready to receive the update, you'll see a notification pop up on the screen. Plan or install it immediately by clicking the update button.

To install it, please make sure your car is in Basic or Advanced Privacy Mode. You can do this by selecting Settings > Safety & Security > Privacy > Select Basic or Advanced Privacy Mode. You’ll then receive all software updates as soon as they become available for your car.

For more detail, please refer to the online owner’s manual.

1. Charging

·      A button has been added to the Charging menu, allowing you to manually activate the pre-conditioning of the High-Voltage Battery (HVB) whenever you wish.

·      The start and stop temperatures for High-Voltage Battery pre-conditioning have been optimized.

·      Improvements have been made to the pre-heating of the High-Voltage Battery when you are using the navigation system to drive to a charger.

·      High-Voltage Battery pre-conditioning now works until you are down to 50 km of range or less, rather than 20% battery charge or lower, as it did before.

2. Driving assistance systems

·      In cold weather, the front camera now benefits from pro-active heating. This prevents frost or ice from building up on the lens and obstructing its view, which would lead to some ADAS systems being temporarily disabled.

·      The maximum speed at which Lane Keep Assist (LKA) operates has been lowered from 180 km/h to 130 km/h. Further improvements to the system have made interventions smoother.

·      The Driver Monitoring System (DMS) has been adjusted to reduce warnings.

·      Improvements have been made throughout the suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), reducing the frequency of audio notifications.

·      ADAS systems – especially Autopilot – are now easier to activate.

·      Adjustment of Highway Assist to reduce likelihood of oversteering at low speeds.

·      Accuracy of speed limit information has been improved to account for time restrictions.

3. Navigation system

·      You can now enter how much charge you want to be left in the battery when you reach your destination in case there is no charger there.

·      The system now more accurately estimates the level of charge remaining in the battery.

·      Smart planning now includes proposed charge stops.

·      The timing of notifications that you are approaching a roundabout has been optimized.

·      In Active Guidance, you can now tap directly on the widget to view stops.

·      Overspeed audio warnings from the navigation system have been reduced.

·      The drive guidance in the Standard voice setting mode has been reduced, with the Detail mode available for drivers who prefer more audio guidance.

4. Infotainment system

·      Sentry mode is an intelligent security system that alerts you as soon as it detects a possible threat nearby. If this option is activated, your car’s cameras remain active and ready to record any suspicious activity when your Zeekr 001 is locked.

·      The infotainment system’s start-up time has been shortened.

·      A Factory Reset option has been introduced, allowing you to delete all user data, effectively restoring your car’s software to the state it was in when it was delivered.

·      You can now delete user profiles individually. To access this option, press and hold on the profile’s icon.

·      The sensitivity of the Driver Monitoring System (DMS) has been optimized.

·      A ‘Flight Mode’ button has been added, allowing you to turn cellular connectivity on or off.

·      The last media source played (e.g. a radio station or a streaming service such as Spotify) is now saved every time.

·      A number of further enhancements and fixes have been implemented throughout the infotainment system, including language improvements.

Other improvements

·      Auto-hold now operates correctly when the car is placed in reverse gear.

·      A number of minor bugs have been addressed to improve the performance of the system.
